Prediabetes

Prediabetes

Prediabetes indicates the presence of metabolic abnormalities as described in type 2 diabetes, but the blood glucose levels have not yet increased to the level for a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes is diagnosed by an HbA1c level of 42 to 48 mmol/mol (6.0 - 6.5%). Recent research suggests that a high proportion of people with prediabetes can achieve remission by making the same lifestyle changes I recommend for people with type 2 diabetes.
